Unexpected Areas of Pain
Most people think of chest pain when it comes to heart disease, but discomfort from heart disease can also occur in other parts of the body. The British Heart Foundation, a UK-based charity, states that pains related to heart and circulatory disease can affect the stomach, jaw, back, arms (especially the left ones), legs, arms (especially the calves), and arms. Ankle swelling could be caused by heart failure.
These symptoms and signs are often not thought of as related to heart disease. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience these signs or symptoms.
