 Purple or red lines under your nails

What it could be telling you: Most people who notice lines under their nails are likely to have damaged the nail. You may need to visit your doctor if you cannot recall injuring your nails. These lines could be an indication of heart disease or another condition.
People who have heart disease will often experience symptoms such as high fever or a weakening of the heartbeat.

 Unpleasing lumps in your fingers or toes

It could be telling you that your heart or blood vessels are infected.
Infective endocarditis is a condition in which painful lumps develop in the fingers, toes, or both. These lumps can last from a few hours up to several days.
The lumps will go away by themselves, but patients still need to be treated for the infection. Bacteria often cause this infection, and antibiotics are sometimes used to treat it. Sometimes surgery may be necessary.
